Hi everybody, how are you? Today I take you virtually to Brussels, a very nice city, perhaps less particular, characteristic or known than other European capitals, but having gone there with the Christmas atmosphere a year ago, everything was even more beautiful, and if you ever have the opportunity to go there I recommend the period under the Christmas holidays, magical.

It's funny how everything can change in a year, it was the last plane I took, I miss that feeling and you? who knows when I will take another one, what was the last plane you took?

Surely one of the most beautiful things of my trip was the light show on the buildings in the main square, the Grand Place where the Town Hall and the City Museum are located, a show that they do only for a certain period. Between the lights and the Christmas tree it was beautiful. In the evening they do the show every bit of time and every time I ran into them I stopped to look at them and take pictures and videos. In fact, the square is like the fulcrum of the city, it is easy to pass several times to see the monuments that are around it. Not far away you can admire one of the symbols of Brussels the Manneskin Pis, the famous statue of the boy who pees, very small in a corner of the city (there are also two other statues in the city that pee, a girl and a dog). The statue is near a street full of shops selling the famous Waffle, one of the typical sweets, you will get fat just looking at them, I leave you some photos, they are beautiful (and very good). One of the most famous places that sell them is the Waffle Factory, but in the end one is as good as another, each one is delicious. Another thing I recommend to eat is the French fries cone from Fritland.

Returning to the serious things to visit, you can take a walk inside the Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries or reach the Mont des Arts which during the holidays adorn with an installation of colored lights. From there you can reach the hub of the museums (Museum of Music, Magritte Museum, Museum of Ancient Art ...) which, however, I only saw from the outside, although I would not have minded going to the terrace in the music museum, the architectural structure it's gorgeous. And immediately around the corner you come across the Royal Palace.

Always referring to the downtown area, only during the Christmas period, you can find Christmas markets, skating rinks or the Ferris wheel inside the city.

Ciao a tutti, come state? Oggi vi porto virtualmente a Bruxelles, una città molto carina, magari meno particolare, caratteristica o conosciuta di altre capitali europee, ma essendoci andata con l'atmosfera natalizia un anno fa, tutto era ancora più bello, e se mai avrete l'opportunità di andarci vi consiglio il periodo sotto le feste, magico.

Fa strano come tutto può cambiare in un anno, è stato l'ultimo aereo che ho preso, mi manca quella sensazione e a voi? chissà quando ne riprenderò un altro, qual'è stato l'ultimo aereo che avete preso?

Sicuramente una delle cose più belle del mio viaggio è stato lo spettacolo di luci sugli edifici nella piazza principale la Grand Place dove si trovano il Municipio e il Museo della Città, spettacolo che realizzano solo per un certo periodo. Tra luci e albero di Natale era bellissimo. Alla sera ogni tot di tempo fanno lo spettacolo e ogni volta che mi ci imbattevo mi fermavo a riguardare e a fare foto e video. Infatti la piazza è un pò il fulcro della città, è facile passarci varie volte per vedere le opere che vi sono attorno. Non molto lontano potete ammirare uno dei simboli di Bruxelles il Manneskin Pis, la famosa statua del bambino che fa la pipi, molto piccola in un angolo della città (esistono anche altre due statue per la città che fanno pipi, una bambina e il cane). La statua è vicino a una via piena di negozi che vendono i famosi Waffle, uno dei dolci tipici, ingrasserete solo a guardarli, vi lascio delle foto, non sono bellissimi (e buonissimi). Uno dei locali più famosi che li vende è il Waffle Factory, ma alla fine uno vale l'altro, ognuno è buonissimo. Un'altra cosa che vi consiglio di mangiare è il cono di patatine fritte da Fritland.

Tornando alle cose serie da visitare potrete farvi una passeggiata all'interno delle Gallerie Reali Saint-Hubert oppure raggiungere il Mont des Arts che nel periodo di feste addobbano con un'installazione di lucine colorate. Da lì potete raggiungere il fulcro dei musei (Museo della Musica, Museo Magritte, Museo d’arte antica...) che però ho solo visto da fuori, anche se non mi sarebbe dispiaciuto andare sulla terrazza nel museo della musica, la struttura architettonica è bellissima. E' subito svoltato l'angolo vi imbattete nel Palazzo Reale.

Sempre rimandando in zona centro, solo nel periodo natalizio, potete trovare mercatini di natale, piste di pattinaggio o la ruota panoramica all'interno della città.

To move around the city there are practical public transport. There are all types of tickets: single, round trip, day, 5-ticket booklet, you just have to figure out what suits you best. In fact, just outside the center you can admire the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and above all access the dome and admire the view of the city from above at a cost of € 6.

Even further away is the other famous symbol of Brussels, the Atomium, the giant atom on which you can climb. I went up to take off the whim since I was there, I bought the ticket in common with the Mini Europe (27.60 €) to save a little bit but it's not worth it. The Mini Europe, on the other hand, I absolutely recommend it, perfect if you have children, it's fun to admire the great symbols of Europe in miniature all in one place, especially if you have seen the real ones, a bit like checking your own list of what you have seen and have yet to see.

While you are in this area I recommend you take a tour of the Laeken Park and reach (perhaps by public transport) the Japanese tower and the Chinese pavilion, so it will seem that you have also been to Asia in one fell swoop 😂

Per spostarsi per la città ci sono pratici mezzi pubblici. Esistono biglietti di tutti i tipi: singoli, andata/ritorno, giornalieri, carnet da 5 biglietti, dovete solo capire cosa vi fa più comodo. Infatti poco fuori dal centro potete ammirare la Basilica di Sacro Cuore e soprattutto accedere alla cupola e ammirare la vista della città dall'alto al costo di 6 €.

Ancora più distante invece c'è l'altro famoso simbolo di Bruxelles l'Atomium, l'atomo gigante su cui potete salire. Sono salita per togliermi lo sfizio visto che ero lì, ma non è chissà che cosa, ho comprato il biglietto in comune con la Mini Europa (27.60 €) per risparmiare qualcosina ma non ne vale la pena. La Mini Europa invece ve la consiglio assolutamente, perfetta se avete bambini, è divertente ammirare i grandi simboli dell'Europa in miniatura tutti in un unico posto, specialmente se avete visto quelli reali, un pò come fare un check sulla propria lista di ciò che avete visto e dovete ancora vedere.

Mentre siete in questa zona vi consiglio di farvi un giro per il Parco Laeken e raggiungere (magari con i mezzi) la torre Giapponese e il padiglione Cinese, così sembrerà che siete stati anche in Asia in un colpo solo 😂

Returning to the center, another area that I recommend is the one where the European Parliament is located, whose visit to the various buildings is totally free and with the audio guide (included) super interesting, too bad it was forbidden to take pictures inside. As well as the Cinquantenaire Park with the arch and its museums, very close to the hotel where I stayed "First EuroFlat" very nice and at a good price given the period.

The last things you can see are the Horta Museum, especially if you are a student of architecture, design because you have certainly studied it. Again, no photos inside, but a discounted price for students, € 5 instead of € 10. Also take a tour of the Palace of Justice to admire the architectural structure, the exceptional access stairways and its surroundings such as the Church of Our Lady of Sablon.

Also during my trip I took advantage of the moment to visit Bruges too, super nice, which I will tell you about in another post.

Ritornando verso il centro un'altra zona che vi consiglio è quella in cui si trova il Parlamento Europeo, la cui visita dei vari edifici è totalmente gratuita e con l'audioguida (inclusa) super interessante, peccato fosse vietato fare foto all'interno. Così come il Parco del Cinquantenario con l'arco e i suoi musei, vicinissimo all'hotel il cui ho soggiornato "First EuroFlat" molto bello e ad un buon prezzo visto il periodo.

Ultime cose che potete vedere sono il Museo di Horta, specialmente se siete studenti di architettura, design perché l'avrete di sicuro studiato. Anche qui niente foto al suo interno, ma prezzo scontato per gli studenti, 5 € al posto di 10 €. Inoltre fatevi un giro Al Palazzo di Giustizia per ammirare la struttura architettonica, gli scaloni d'accesso eccezionali e i suoi dintorni come la Chiesa di Nostra Signora di Sablon.

Inoltre durante il mio viaggio ho sfruttato il momento per visitare anche Bruges, super carina, di cui vi parlerò in un altro post.
