Hi everyone, today I take you to Los Angeles and I already singing California, California, here we come. I have mentioned to you my itinerary in the States in another post, and today I will explain to you a little better the main attractions to see in the city.
Let's start with the famous Hollywood Boulevard with the Walk of Fame, the famous street of the stars of the show, with the famous TCL Chinese Theater venue of the Hollywood film premieres and place where the "footprints" of the famous actors are kept. A place that is a must see, but which in my opinion is not worth it because at the end they are simple stars, footprints, nothing more. And while you are there, take a trip to the parallel street: Sunset Boulevard with classic palm trees, perhaps at sunset.
Other interesting things in the area are probably the television studios of some broadcasts and to watch a show, but you must be able to book and go even in the right period (I went in August so everything was paused, unfortunately).
Useful info: if you go with the car and are looking for parking, you have to pay in all cases and in general it is $ 20 all day, but if you stay on the corner near the Hollywood United Methodist Church you will find a parking lot for $ 15, it doesn't change much, but better than nothing.

Ciao a tutti, oggi vi porto a Los Angeles e già mi viene da cantare California, California, here we come. Vi ho già accennato del mio itinerario di viaggio negli States, e oggi vi spiego un pò meglio le principali attrazioni da vedere.
Iniziamo con la famosa Hollywood Boulevard con la Walk of Fame, la famosa via delle stelle dello spettacolo con il famoso TCL Chinese Theater sede delle premiere cinematografiche di Hollywood e luogo in cui sono custodite le "impronte" dei famosi attori. Una via che è assolutamente da vedere, ma che secondo me non ne vale la pena perchè alla fine sono delle semplici stelle, impronte, nulla di più. E mentre siete lì fate un salto nella via parallela: la Sunset Boulevard con le classiche palme, magari al tramonto.
Altre cose interessanti in zona sono probabilmente gli studi televisivi di alcune trasmissioni per assistere a uno show, ma dovete riuscire a prenotarvi e andare anche nel periodo giusto (io sono andata ad agosto quindi tutto era in pausa, sfortunatamente).
Info utili: se siete in macchina e cercate parcheggio vi tocca in tutti i casi pagare e in generale sono 20 dollari per tutto il giorno, ma se volete all’angolo vicino alla chiesa Hollywood United Methodist Church trovate un parcheggio a 15 dollari, non cambia molto ma meglio che niente.

Moving north we find the places I preferred: the Warner Bros Studio Tour Hollywood and the Universal Studios Hollywood, both beautiful but not exactly cheap (especially the Universal) but if you love TV series/ cinema like me, you can't miss it. In this case I don't talk about it too much because I want to show you and explain everything in a separate post, I leave you just a few photos hoping to feed your curiosity, do you recognize some of these places?

Spostandoci verso nord troviamo i luoghi che ho preferito: i Warner Bros Studio Tour Hollywood e gli Universal Studios Hollywood, entrambi bellissimi anche se non proprio economici (specialmente gli Universal) ma se siete amanti delle serie tv/cinema come me, non potete farveli scappare. In questo caso non approfondisco troppo perchè voglio mostrarvi e spiegarvi il tutto in un post separato, vi lascio giusto qualche foto sperando di alimentare la vostra curiosità, riconoscete alcuni di questi luoghi?

Moving towards the downtown district we find the Walt Disney Concert Hall designed by Frank Gehry, which can also be visited internally (unfortunately I didn't have time) but even just from the outside it's worth it, don't you think? A very particular architectural building. You can park below for the price of $ 9 all day.
Next to it there is The Broad museum, a very unique museum in terms of architecture and content, in fact it is a museum of modern art. The museum is free but you have to book online. Moreover inside there are some beautiful rooms/works of art but there are only few places because you will enter one at a time and it is possible to reserve it only the same day inside the museum, so if you are interested you should go immediately in the morning when it opens and book immediately for the room.
The surrounding area is full of skyscrapers including the US Bank Tower where you can find the OUE Skyspace and admire the view of Los Angeles from above. But even more interesting is the slide from one floor to another, a special experience if you don't suffer of vertigo, at an additional cost of 8 dollars. And while you are there don't miss the chance to take a picture in front of the famous wings.

Spostandoci verso il quartiere downtown troviamo il Walt Disney Concert Hall progettato da Frank Gehry, che può essere visitato anche internamente (non ho avuto tempo purtroppo) ma anche solo da fuori ne vale la pena, non trovate? Un edificio architettonico molto particolare. Se siete in macchina potete parcheggiare al di sotto al prezzo di 9 dollari per tutto il giorno.
Subito accanto trovate il museo The Broad, un museo molto particolare dal punto di vista architettonico e di contenuti, infatti è un museo di arte moderna. Il museo è gratuito ma bisogna prenotarsi online. Inoltre all'interno ci sono delle stanze/opere d'arte bellissime ma ci sono pochi posti perché entrerete uno alla volta ed è possibile prenotarlo solo il giorno stesso all'interno del museo, quindi se siete interessati vi conviene andare subito al mattino quando apre e prenotarvi subito per la stanza.
La zona circostante è piena di grattacieli tra i quali la US Bank Tower al cui interno potete trovare lo OUE Skyspace ed ammirare la vista di Los Angeles dall'alto. Ma ancora più interessante è lo scivolo da un piano ad un altro, un'esperienza particolare se non soffrite di vertigini, al costo aggiuntivo di 8 dollari. E mentre siete lí non fatevi scappare l'occasione di farvi una foto davanti alle famose ali.

Not too far from there don't miss the Public Art Urban Light a modern work outside the LACMA museum. Accessible for free, a perfect place to get likes on Instagram and if you are interested, take a tour in the museum.

Moving towards the sea we find the beach of Santa Monica and Venice Beach, the amusement park with its ferris wheel and miles of "road" where you can walk, ride a bike or with roller. Sea, sun, sand you can't miss it. I advise you to rent the bike and travel as far as possible and to wander through the canals of Venice, a kind of American Venezia.
Moreover there are so many interesting nearby beaches like Malibu, Santa Barbara, but more out of the area.
Info: we rented bikes for $ 18 and found parking for $ 18 all day.

Spostandoci verso il mare troviamo la spiaggia di Santa Monica e Venice Beach, il parco di divertimento con la sua ruota panoramica e chilometri di "strada" in cui camminare, andare in bici o con i roller. Mare, sole, sabbia non potete farvelo scappare. Io vi consiglio di affittare la bici e percorrere più strada possibile e girare tra i canali di Venice, una specie di Venezia americana.
In realtà ci sono così tante spiagge nei dintorni interessanti come Malibù, Santa Barbara, ma subito più fuori zona.
Info: noi abbiamo affittato le bici al costo di 18 dollari e trovato parcheggio a 18 dollari per tutto il giorno.

Still in the area you can't miss the Beverly Hills neighborhood, the famous Rodeo Drive street, the rich shops, never seen Pretty Woman?
In this case, the parking is paid by the hour, but if you don't have to go shopping, you pay 1 hour for $ 2 and take a quick spin, paying for parking meters on the street.

Sempre nella zona non potete perdervi il quartiere di Beverly Hills, la famosa via Rodeo Drive, i negozi dei ricchi, mai visto Pretty Woman?In questo caso il parcheggio va ad ora, ma se non dovete fare shopping, con 2 dollari pagate 1 ora e vi fate un giretto veloce, pagando i parchimetri per strada.

Another milestone is Griffith Park with the famous Hollywood sign, the Griffith Observatory where you can admire Los Angeles from above and you probably seen it in so many films, does La La Land tell you anything? Yes Man? or where Raj from The Big Bang Theory work in recent seasons?
Only problem is that the parking costs 8 dollars an hour so if you want to see the sunset from there go to the right time so you only pay that hour, but it is full of people and traffic to get there so you also have to be lucky to find a parking spot.
In the park there are also other things to see or walks to discover it, but with the heat of August it was not ideal.

Un'altra tappa fondamentale è il Griffith Park con la famosa scritta Hollywood, il Griffith Observatory dal quale ammirare Los Angeles dall'alto e visto in tantissimi film, vi dice niente La La Land? Yes Man? o dove lavorava Raj di The Big Bang Theory nelle ultime stagioni?
Unico problema è che il parcheggio costa 8 dollari l'ora quindi se volete vedere il tramonto da lì andate verso l'ora giusta così da pagare solo quell'ora, ma è pieno di gente e traffico per arrivarci quindi dovete anche essere fortunati a trovare parcheggio.
Nel parco ci sono anche altre cose da vedere o passeggiate da fare per scoprirlo tutto, ma con il caldo di agosto non era l'ideale.

Extra stop: Getty Center, beautiful and free, with the exception of parking (10 dollars after 3 p.m., otherwise 15). A crazy architectural work full of exceptional works, quite close to Beverly Hills.
Of the same "type" we find the Getty Villa, a Roman-style villa that must be equally beautiful. Always free but to book previously. Also in this case you need to paid the parking, but a little bit further away from the center.

Extra tappa: Getty Center, bellissimo e gratis, ad eccezione del parcheggio (10 dollari dopo le 15, altrimenti 15). Un'opera architettonica pazzesca e ricca di opere eccezionali, abbastanza vicino a Beverly Hills.
Dello stesso "tipo" troviamo la Getty Villa, una villa in stile romano che dev'essere altrettanto bella. Sempre gratuita ma da prenotare precedentemente. Anche in questo caso parcheggio a pagamento ma un pochino più distante dal centro.
